RESOLUTION In Support of the 3 ISD Levies
from the Issaquah Education Association
A RESOLUTION from the Issaquah Education Association Executive Board and Rep. Council in support of each of the three (3) Issaquah School District levies (collectively, the "Levy"), as follows:
- A renewal of the Maintenance and Operations Levy for basic operations of schools;
- A Transportation Levy to preserve the school bus depreciation schedule; and
- A Capital Levy to fund critical building repairs and educational technology.
WHEREAS, the Issaquah School District ranks 271st out of the 295 school districts in terms of revenue per student, and without the Levy, the Issaquah School District would have to cut its budget by approximately one fourth (1/4);
NOW IT IS
RESOLVED, that IEA declares support for the proposed Issaquah School District M&O Levy; Transportation Levy; and Technlogy Levy; and, it is
RESOLVED, that IEA will transmit copies of this resolution to the non-profit Volunteers for Issaquah Schools ("VIS"), an organization that is set up to run a citizens' campaign to pass Issaquah School District bonds and levies, including the Levy, for use by VIS to support the campaign.

ADOPTED this 28th day of October, 2009, by the Issaquah Educatino Association's Representative Council.
